Smart Cities Council announces unique collaboration to bring the world’s largest Smart Cities Projects to Silicon Valley.
San Francisco, USA – February 10, 2025
Smart Cities Council (SCC), has today announced a unique partnership, Smart Cities Summit North America, in San Francisco May 7 & 8 2025.
A collaboration between high profile Smart Cities organizations, including Charter Cities Institute, Smart Cities Americas, Leading Cities, and Deep Tech Week and generously supported by Title Sponsor, IFZA, International Free Zone Authority, the summit brings project owners from more than 30 countries and US city and government leaders to San Francisco in an interactive and actionable forum.
Set over 2 days in the iconic Mark Hopkins Hotel, the program brings together 450 people including heads of government, government agencies, project owners, capital funds and tech companies who will collaborate to build policy, capital strategy, solution sets, procurement strategies and open vendor ecosystems that will deliver the largest smart cities projects of the next 50 years.
Through event Title Sponsor, IFZA, and event partners, Miami – Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the summit highlights the strong trade and investment links between the USA and Dubai and how they can be leveraged to access the enormous opportunities presented in the Middle East and Africa.
“DTW is an ideal partner for SCC and the summit.” explained SCC President, Corey Gray. “By bringing real projects to startups who can solve them and the capital funds who finance them is a logical step, a key feature of the summit and a core capability of Andrew Côté and the Deep Tech Week team.”
Government delegations and project owners will present opportunities around mega-projects such as rebuilding Israel and Palestine, Iraq, Libya and Syria, along with accelerating social and economic transformation in countries like Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Morocco and Democratic Republic of Congo. Projects in Ukraine, Türkiye, Poland and ASEAN will also feature.
The program also commits to SCC’s human-centric approach to Smart Cities and includes themes of “health-span”, “psycho-locus” and biophilic design and includes sectors such as elder care, healthcare, indigenous communities, homelessness, digital equity and earthquake resilience.
There will also be a dedicated Tech Startup & Capital Investment Track supported by Leading Cities, who operate the globally successful AcceliCITY program, and Deep Tech Week.
In parallel, Smart Cities Academy is running the new micro-credentialled: Smart Cities Introductory Course, produced in partnership with SCC Global Education Partner, ZIGURAT Institute of Technology. Attendees can also learn more about the extensive program of postgraduate opportunities now being offered.
“The opportunity to bring together a portfolio of the world’s largest projects and brightest startups with the largest tech companies and capital funds on the planet, and to revision Smart Cities through a human-centric lens is particularly exciting for us.” explained SCC President, Corey Gray. “Helping build business cases that make economic sense, put wellbeing and the environment first and that are actually delivered on time, on budget and as designed changes the Smart City narrative.”
